Scientific conference on Andean Forests in Apurímac

La ciudad de Abancay recibirá la visita del reconocido investigador de la Universidad de Austin, Texas, Dr. Kenneth R Young, quién brindará la Conferencia Científica: “Cambios en los Bosques Andinos”, donde expondrá sobre los cambios, retos y oportunidades de los paisajes forestales andinos en un contexto de cambio climático.

Members of the Andean Forests Network will meet in Quito, Ecuador

On July 29 – 31, Members of the Andean Forest Network will meet in Quito, Ecuador during the workshop entitled “Andean Forests Network: Assessing the responses to global environmental changes.”

The meeting will take place at the Catholic University of Ecuador and will be attended by more than 20 researchers, technicians, and decision makers from Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile and Argentina.

International Scientific Conference opens in Paris in preparation for COP21

The International Scientific Conference will be held in Paris on July 7 – 10. The conference entitled “Our Common Future Under Climate Change” is the most important platform to bring together the scientific community prior to the 21st Conference of Parties to The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP21).

The scientific community plays an important role in tackling climate change, by identifying sustainable alternatives and innovations applicable to different spatial and temporal scales that can become effective measures and policies.
